Your water level on your phone, wherever you are
No climbing up to lift the lid or tapping the side of the tank. The SENTRi reads the level on its own and sends each reading to the Magnus app, so you know how much water is left and when it’s getting low.
Water left
As a percentage and in litres.
Daily usage
See how much water you’re using.
Days to empty
Worked out from your recent usage.
Usage history
Spot a change in usage, like a leak or a float valve that sticks.
The litres and days to empty depend on the tank being set up correctly in the app. They’re most accurate on tanks with straight sides.

No Wi-Fi needed. It has its own connection.
The SENTRi sends readings over the mobile network on its own, so your phone doesn’t need to be anywhere near the tank. It suits tanks in fields, on farms, in outbuildings and at properties you don’t live at, where there’s no Wi-Fi or nobody about to check.
No Wi-Fi
No passwords to set up and no broadband needed.
No extra hub
No indoor receiver or Gateway to plug in.
No mains power
Runs on an internal battery rated for 5+ years.
No SIM contract
SIM built in, using LTE-M and NB-IoT with 2G as a backup.
All you need is mobile signal at the tank and the Magnus app on your phone. The SENTRi normally reports about every six hours.
Know when it’s low. Know when something’s wrong.
Get a notification on your phone and by email when the tank is running low, and when the level drops suddenly. A sudden drop is often the first sign of a leak, a burst pipe or a trough left running.
Alerts come through when a reading is sent, so they depend on the reporting interval, the mobile signal and your settings. It’s a monitor, not an instant alarm.

Accurate readings without touching the water
The SENTRi measures the distance down to the water with radar, so nothing goes in the tank. Radar is less affected by condensation and temperature changes, so it stays accurate with very little looking after.

Fits plastic and metal tanks
The Magnus app connects to the monitor by Bluetooth and takes you through your tank’s size, where to put the monitor, a test reading and a signal check. Most installs take a few minutes.

Plastic tanks
No drilling
Sticks to the top of the tank with an industrial 3M adhesive pad, and the radar reads straight through the plastic. There’s also an adaptor for tanks with a pre-drilled hole.
Metal tanks
1.5″ / 2″ BSP
Screws into an existing 1.5 inch or 2 inch BSP opening with the threaded adaptor.
Standard or GPS tracking
Standard SENTRi
Best for most tanks
For fixed water tanks
- Remote water level monitoring
- Usage history and days to empty
- Low level and sudden drop alerts
Water storage tanks at homes, farms, smallholdings and businesses, anywhere the tank stays put.
SENTRi with GPS tracking
+ £96 inc VAT+ £80 ex VAT
For tanks that move
- Everything in Standard
- Where the tank is and where it’s been
- Location updates, usually once a day
Water bowsers, IBCs and portable tanks that get moved between fields or sites. It isn’t live vehicle tracking.
If your tank is close to the house, the Magnus HAWKi might be all you need.
First year included. Simple after that.
The subscription covers the SENTRi’s mobile connection and the Magnus cloud monitoring, so there’s no separate SIM or data contract to sort out.
An active subscription and mobile signal at the tank are needed for readings to upload.
Before you order
Mobile signal
It needs a mobile signal at the tank, and setup includes a signal check. Not sure? Give us a call before you order.
Reading frequency
It normally reports about every six hours. The app shows the latest reading it’s received, not a live feed.
Your tank
Fits most plastic and metal tanks, but the fitting, the tank’s construction and the path down to the water need to suit.
Liquids
Water, heating oil (kerosene), diesel and gas oil. Check with us for anything else.
Not for petrol
It isn’t ATEX certified, so it can’t be used on petrol tanks or in explosive atmospheres.
Battery life
Varies with the mobile signal, how often it reports, the temperature and where it is fitted.

Frequently asked questions
Does the SENTRi need Wi-Fi?
No. It has its own built-in SIM and sends readings over the mobile network. It doesn’t need Wi-Fi, a separate receiver or broadband.
Do I need to buy a SIM card?
No. The SIM is built in, and the first year of connection is included in the price.
Can I check the tank when I’m not there?
Yes. As long as the SENTRi has mobile signal at the tank, you can see the latest reading in the Magnus app wherever you are.
How often does it update?
It normally reports about every six hours. Some big changes in level can send an extra update. The app shows when the last reading came in.
Will it fit my water tank?
It works on most plastic and metal tanks. On a plastic tank it sticks on top with the 3M pad, or fits a pre-drilled hole with the adaptor. On a metal tank it screws into a 1.5 inch or 2 inch BSP opening. If you’re not sure, send us a photo or the make and model of your tank before you order.
Is it OK on a drinking water tank?
On a plastic tank it sticks to the outside on top and reads through the plastic, so nothing touches the water.
Will it tell me about a leak?
It sends an alert when the level drops suddenly between readings, which is usually the first sign of a leak or a burst. It isn’t a continuous alarm, so a very slow leak shows up in the usage history instead.
What happens after the first year?
The first 12 months are included. After that you renew in the Magnus app for £60 a year.
Do I need GPS for a fixed tank?
No. GPS is for bowsers, IBCs and tanks that get moved about. The standard SENTRi has everything you need for a tank that stays put.
Can it go on a petrol tank?
No. It isn’t ATEX certified, so it can’t be used on petrol tanks or in explosive atmospheres.
